NEET PG 2025 announced for August 3

The National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences NBEMS has confirmed the date for NEET PG 2025 after multiple revisions. The premier entrance test for postgraduate medical courses in India will now take place on August 3, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The postponement was ordered by the Supreme Court to address lingering legal questions.

Single-shift format reinstated for fairness

The 2025 exam returns to a single-shift structure, reversing the two-session model used in 2024. After extensive debate on sliding question-difficulty curves, the council directive aims to fix discrepancies and restore candidate confidence. Revised city-selection notices will follow, allowing applicants to finalize test-center preferences well in advance.

In a bid to seat every contender in a single round, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has widened the map of test centers. Aspirants must log in again to choose a city, even if their initial preference still stands. The portal will open on June 13 at 3:00 p.m. and close on June 17 at 11:11:55 p.m. Timing is crucial because the allotment is on a first-come, first-served basis. Only locations with empty slots will appear on the screen. If the favored spot is unavailable, a candidate may click on others, promising that the nearest postcode to their mailing address will be used if possible.

For planning purposes, the Board reserves the authority to add or remove cities up to the day of the exam. The precise building name will not be unveiled until the admit card drops, a document scheduled for release on July 31, 2025.

The NEET-PG 2025 tentative calendar is already circulating among preparation groups on campus. Exam City Selection window is set for June 13 to June 17. Edit Window for Application follows quickly, running from June 20 to June 22. City intimation will land in inboxes on July 21. Admit cards are expected by July 31. The main examination date is August 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m Official results are supposed to be out by September 3.

The NEET-PG 2025 will be an all-digital exam offered in English only, according to the Board. Two hundred multiple-choice questions must be tackled in three and a half hours. Each correct answer earns four marks, but one mark is deducted for every wrong response; unanswered questions sit quietly at zero. Back-to-one-shift testing is more than a scheduling quirk; it is a reaction to candidate outcry over perceived inequities in multi-shift offerings.

The Supreme Court weighed in, insisting that exams be fairer and easier to audit. NBEMS has promised that this single-block format will level the playing field. Prospective test-takers should rehearse how to lock in an exam city as the June window opens. Once the July admit-card drop occurs, it is wise to double-check the assigned test center. Candidates must plan and fund their transport and lodging; the examining body will provide neither.

Fresh announcements, should any arise, will appear only in the official NBEMS bulletins, so aspirants are urged to check those channels regularly.

The NEET PG 2025 examination is confirmed for a single shift on August 3. Organizers promise tighter oversight and streamlined logistics to promote fairness and transparency. To avoid last-minute stress, applicants should mark the opening dates for exam-city selection and admit card retrieval in their calendars.

For any lingering questions, the NBEMS website and its help desks remain the best sources.
